Why We Built This Site
Maryland opens a good share of its warrant information to the public, but knowing which office holds the piece you want is the hard part. A single warrant touches several places at once. The judge or Commissioner who authorizes it sets the charge and any bond, the clerk of the court that issued it keeps the file, and the Sheriff's Office is the agency that actually serves it. A bench warrant for a missed court date belongs to the court that set the case, which in Howard County means the Circuit Court or the District Court. Maryland has no public warrant-only state database, so a reader can check one office, come up empty, and wrongly assume there is nothing to find. We gather the office names, addresses, phone numbers, court levels, fees, and request steps that apply here so a reader can start in the right place.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how to run a warrant search by name and date of birth through the courts and the Sheriff's Office
- Outstanding warrants: how to check for active warrants and what an "active" status actually means
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants arise and which court holds them
- Charge-based warrants: how arrest warrants are issued and served in Howard County
- Resolving a warrant: the routes that lead to a recall, a voluntary surrender, or a bond arrangement
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Maryland court, the Sheriff's Office, or any state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot run an official warrant check or confirm whether a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot remove, recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot post bond or accept any kind of payment toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a warrant walk-through
- We cannot give legal advice or tell you how a specific warrant applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or court detail on this site is current right now
Only the court that issued the warrant or the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Section that holds it can confirm whether a warrant exists and whether it has been recalled or cleared. We can point you to the right office, but the answer has to come from that office.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results, and their data is not an official warrant check.
